BREAKING NEWS - Sociologists discover a new people group! (Thankees)

You may know that I am involved in an extremely exciting project. What you may not know is that the marketing I am doing for this is completely new to me.

I never studied Social Media at University, I never used it because it hadn’t been ‘invented’ at Pepsi or at Nestle (2 of the biggest, most dynamic marketing companies in the world) and yet here I am leading a global marketing team developing a break-through product.

How did I manage? One word describes how I learnt about this great new world. ‘Thanks’!

- Thanks to everyone who posted information on the web. It is so easy to find help with all kinds of new subjects I knew nothing about.
- Thanks to everyone who linked me with someone in their network that could help me.
- Thanks to everyone in the many groups I joined who accepted me and helped me learn new ‘stuff’.
- Thanks to everyone who ‘gave away’ information instead of holding it and trying to make money out of it.

You know what I am going to do? I am going to do the same thing all these ‘Thankees’ did - I am going to give away information freely, I am going to help people connect with other experts, I am going to donate to the online knowledge bank.

It feels good to give away. Funny, Jesus said it would!

What kind of ‘internet carbon footprint’ are you leaving on the web? Are you you just taking and enjoying without leaving a positive legacy or are helping to build knowledge and helping other people fulfill their potential

PS - if you want to see how much I have learned why not go to http://www.yahero.com and see the legacy my Thankees have left me

The bad news about being successful

Success - we all strive for it, unless we are wasted on some weed!

We all want to win the lottery and have our lives changed in a moment. But it doesn't often happen. So how can we be successful?

Here's the bad news: success doesn't sneak up on you! It takes diligence, hard work, persistence and overcoming failure before you taste the sweetness of success.

But there's more bad news because success isn't about things or possessions but it is about people and relationships. You know you have succeeded when you have sown in other peoples lives, when others are better because they have met you, they are stronger, braver, richer, happier because of what you have done for them.

Let you and I be successful - let's improve the life of others. And lets start today.

What are you going to do today to make someone else better?
